Mike Stout coached the Toledo Troopers from 1973-1976 as an offensive coach. During the 1978-1979 seasons, he took over the role as head coach after his brother Bill left the position to serve as vice president of the NWFL (National Women’s Football League), Eastern Division. Mike graduated from Start High School and the University of Toledo. During the time he coached the Troopers, he also taught at Starr Elementary School.

The item Mike loaned the library for our display and digitization was a framed montage showing several team portraits of the Troopers along with various shots from their games. The poster was created by former player Beverly Severance and her grandson, Nathan Carter, in celebration of the team’s induction into the Women’s Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame. Copies of it were presented to the coaches at the July 25, 2014 banquet in Rock Hall, South Carolina.
